This blog needs a theme post wouldn’t you say?! It also needs a little more fitness here lately… Every Friday I’m going to share one of my favorite workout moves. You can incorporate the moves into your regular circuit or workout.
Today is the ultimate butt burner. This move looks innocent but tomorrow you won’t be walking.
FIT FRIDAY: The Drinking Bird
AKA: One-legged dead lift
Weight: 5-15 lbs
Reps: 3 sets of 15 on each leg, in sequence or incorporated into a circuit
Method: Holding your weights in a standing position, step your right foot back.
Tip forward as if performing a dead lift but raise the right leg straight up into an Arabesque-like position until the weights reach mid-shin.
Slowly return to standing. That’s one rep. Repeat 12-15x then switch legs.
Tip: Engage your core for balance. Ab work is an added bonus in this move!
