I’m Elyse (or Lizzie) and this is the place where I like to share my excitement and ideas on fitness and food ❤
I am a chemical engineer working as a technical sales rep but have a MEGA passion for health and fitness! I am new to a plant-based diet but a long time healthy eater. I am in the best shape of my life but a long time fitness ninja!
I became an engineer because math came easy, but also because engineering as a degree was not. Such a challenge had my name written all over it. I loved problem solving and the feeling of “figuring it out”. It was stimulating, rewarding, and I met some of my BEST friends!
This is also how I feel about my wellness journey. I am always challenging myself to be the vest version of ME and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the results of your hard word (abs, tasty meals, energy!, etc.)
As stated, I choose to follow a plant-based diet, focusing mostly on whole foods and eliminating gluten as much as possible. I am a serious (dark) chocoholic and I don’t deny myself a treat when I want one. I am totally into to jucing and green smoothies but I enjoy the occasional (alcoholic) drink with friends, especially during the summer or the holidays. My eating habits have evolved significantly over the past few years and the knowledge I’ve gained about food in general makes me cringe at my former self, thinking Kraft cheese slices were a diet staple because they were fat-free… oh MY!
I like to workout 5-6 times per week, incorporating strength training, high impact conditioning, moderate cardio and hot yoga. I also try to be active outdoors whenever possible. I’ll take any excuse to fit in a little extra fitness while soaking in some vitamin D!
Plant-based eating is my latest challenge and it’s been changing me from the inside out; physically, mentally and emotionally. I think it’s the icing on the (vegan) cake to my creating this blog. Luckily I have the most amazing guy supporting me through everything I do!
I can’t imagine finding someone more supportive of all of my crazy plans and ideas. We’ve been together 3 years now and he’s been with me throughout the most transitional part of my life. I think it’s safe to say he’s in it for the long haul… as long as I’m cooking the tofu 😉
So I’m glad you’re here and I hope you’ll join me on my wellness journey… plant-based or not, fitness crazed or not! Join me for the love of all that is food and fitness. I will be posting recipes and workouts while sharing the knowledge I’ve gained and continue to acquire. I love to inspire people to be the best version of themselves and to be inspired by their stories in return 🙂
